Candle Gift Baskets

What could be easier than putting together candle gift baskets for your friends? These can be for any occasion, whether to celebrate Christmas, the birth of a child,  to help soothe during sickness, or just because. But do make sure that the recipient isn't allergic to any of the fragrances that are in the candles before you give them! There are some unusual designs for candles too, if you wish to make your gift basket a little different.

It is easy to shop for candles these days. You will find a good selection in the local dollar stores, as well as in department stores, and pharmacies. Not only do you have a choice of colour but of the scent used too,  also the candle shape and the candle holder. So there are lots of decisions to be made.

Soy candles are made from soybeans and burn cleaner than paraffin wax candles, so you may want to keep this in mind when choosing candles for your basket. Bees wax candles are natural too, and have a different texture than pillar candles, so you may want to include one or two of these, perhaps tied together with some coloured ribbon.

Of course, making your own candles is an option, as this then gives you full flexibility over colour and fragrance choice, but although it is easy to do, it is more time consuming. However, it is more satisfying to create your own if time permits.

You will need to buy  baskets to put all your goodies in, but first decide on a theme. If you are making candle gift baskets for the bathroom you might want to line the basket with a couple of hand towels, and as well as the candles, put in some essential oil bath lotion, and maybe a soap or some bath beads. Don't forget that it might be useful to put in some matches or a lighter too so that the recipient can light the candles that you are so thoughtfully providing.

You can purchase flower shaped candles that will decorate your baskets too, or you could use artificial or silk flowers. There really are so many choices, but what a lovely gift to receive! Have fun making your selections for your candle gift baskets.

Once you have your baskets filled with goodies, as many or as few as your budget allows, just wrap the whole basket in cellophane, and tie it up with a large ribbon to hold the cellophane closed and everything in its place. The cellophane can be purchased at the local dollar store too to keep the cost down and again you will be able to choose a colour so that it goes well with the candles and other gifts you are enclosing.
