Candles In Your Home

With candles available in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and in a wide variety of scents, it is very easy to use candles to decorate your home. Candles are readily available in many stores, especially in dollar stores, although these are not necessarily of the best quality. Read on to discover some ways you can use candles to brighten up each room in your home.

Candles can make an attractive addition to any room in your home, and scented candles add to the pleasure. Some of the scents help you to relax, and these are good to light in the bedroom, or bathroom if you are able to take baths to help you relax.. As with all candles, you have to make sure that they are on a solid surface, and are not likely to tip or slip onto the floor. 

Tea candles are great for making inexpensive centerpieces for a coffee table, and you could choose scented tea candles as an extra bonus. These small candles can be placed inside heavy glasses or inside quality stemmed plasses to make a great impression. Or you can place tea candles on a mantle piece - the options are many!
 
For an entirely different look, use long tapered candles within a flower arrangement for a dining table. It is better to use dripless candles for these arrangements, and also to use candles that do not smoke as they burn. Soy candles are better than paraffin candles for this purpose. In the interest of safety, make sure that the candles are away from any of the flowers and stems so that they will not catch fire as the candles burn. You can also roll candles in glitter to make them even more attractive, but this is better done on wider candles, so the glitter will not burn.

Floating candles are another idea for decorating your home, and they are available in different shapes and colors. Often they are detailed flower candles, that look very pretty floating in a large bowl. And remember, the water doesn't have to be clear, you could add a few drops of food coloring to add to the look.

Of course, when you light candles in your home you need to be very careful. Do not leave lit candles unattended, or burn them in a room with no ventilation where dangerous fumes could build up. Make sure candles are firmly on a surface that is not likely to tip over or slide. And of course, never let children play with candles or matches without supervision. But if you take care, you will discover that having candles in your home can be an inexpensive addition to your decor.
